Thursday we kick off our on-track activities for those participating in the open track and autocross.
Open Track
Ever wanted to see what your Mustang could do without the speed limits of public roads? Here’s your chance! Following a mandatory tech inspection, you’ll have the opportunity to drive your Mustang at speed on the legendary Pikes Peak International Raceway, including the ROVAL.
This is NOT a racing event, your laps will not be timed and you will not be “racing” against other vehicles. There are strict rules for passing in an effort to minimize any on track trouble and maximize safety for those who choose to participate.
Participants can choose to take part in the morning or afternoon session (or both!)
Don’t want to go fast but want to check out the track? There will be complimentary parade laps from noon – 1pm and 4-5pm for all RMMR registered participants. No need to register, just show up.

Autocross Early Tech
Autocross Early Tech Session is required and will occur during the afternoon Open Track sessions from 1pm – 4pm at the PPIR infield parking lot. An autocross orientation meeting will take place at the PPIR West Lot at the Welcome Building from 4:30pm – 5:30pm. Those that wish to walk the course will be allowed to do that up to 6:15pm at the West Lot.
Fri. June 16th
Autocross / Friday Night Social
Autocross
For those interested in the agility and handling of their Mustang, we recommend the RMMR autocross. This timed event is sure to test the handling of your Mustang and your skills as a driver. The goal is to make it through a course of traffic cones as fast as possible without hitting any.
This event takes place in a large open parking lot outside PPIR, and away from barricades and hazards. Cars go one at a time. Autocross is one of the safest and easiest ways to dip your toe into racing your car.
NOTE: To keep the cost of participation low, our autocross will be a “run/work” event, meaning you’ll need to help run the event for the session you’re not racing in. Roles include replacing cones, managing corners, recording timing, and several others. Please indicate your preferred role on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate.

The Friday Night social will be FREE to all registered participants and will include light refreshments and beverages 6pm – 8:30pm at the Heritage Center, 9283 S Highway 67, Cripple Creek, CO 80813.
Sat. June 17th
Show n’ Shine Car Show
Show n’ Shine
The crowning event of RMMR is the Saturday Show n’ Shine, to be held along Main Street (Bennett Ave.) in Cripple Creek Colorado. With several hundred participants, this is one of the largest Mustang-focused shows you’ll find in the Rocky Mountain region!
The Show n’ Shine is NOT a concours judged competition, but does offer judging in a variety of Mustang-specific classes. Staging will begin at 7 am with a 10 am start and will end promptly at 3:00 pm.
Winners in each of the Show n’ Shine classes will be selected by Judging Teams (residents of the Colorado Springs community) using the following non-concours criteria: Cleanliness, Craftsmanship and Quality.
