Ever wanted to see what your Mustang could do on a race track? Here’s your chance! The RMMR track day offers drivers the opportunity to experience Pikes Peak International Raceway at speed in a non-competitive environment. Drivers will have the chance to hit the banked walls of the ROVAL and attack the sharp turns of the infield course.
We offer two run groups, one morning and one afternoon, comprised of three skill levels:
- Green – Novice Group, limited or no experience on a track
- Blue – Intermediate Group, minimum of four track events. No experience at PPIR.
- Red – Experience Group, several track experiences including time at PPIR.
Acceptance subject to on-site inspection of car. Mandatory Drivers’ Meeting will take place thirty minutes prior to start of the morning and afternoon sessions, attendance is mandatory to run your car.
Participation will be limited to 60 drivers in morning session and 60 drivers in afternoon session.

Rules & Requirements
This “Open Track” event is not a race. Wheel to wheel competition will not be condoned. Courtesy and common sense must prevail at all times while driving on the track. All drivers will be required to operate their vehicles in a safe and controlled manner, as defined by the Event Steward. Erratic or reckless driving is strictly prohibited, and may result in expulsion from the event. All vehicles permitted access to the track must be in good and safe condition. Fire extinguishers are recommended but are no longer required in street cars.
The owner or driver of the vehicle registered for this event will be responsible for a technical inspection in conformance with the Technical Inspection Form. This technical inspection is to be performed by the owner, the driver, or a qualified mechanic prior to arrival at the track and brought to PPIR on the day of the event.
It is the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle to verify that all operating, safety and equipment requirements indicated on the inspection form have been satisfied. The vehicle will be subjected to an additional cursory inspection by a designated technical inspector at the event for full compliance prior to being granted access to the track. Loaner helmets will be available and passengers will not be allowed in the 1st session of each run group, but will be allowed in sessions 2 & 3.
Drivers and passengers must wear a helmet when on the track. Helmets of a Snell 2000 or later rating are required of all drivers and passengers. (Helmets will be inspected. Damaged helmets will not be permitted.) RMMR has a limited number of loaner helmets available to borrow. The use of head socks will be required for anyone borrowing one of the RMMR loaner helmets. The RMMR will have head socks available for RMMR participants that need to use our loaner helmets.
For those drivers who may be concerned about exposure to possible damage to your collector or exotic (high value) cars participating in a “high performance driving event”, normally excluded from your typical insurance coverage, HPDE insurance is available to individual track participants through LOCKTON AFFINITY, LLC. For more information, contact Locktonmotorsports.com or contact Fredric A. Knuth, Lockton Affinity, at 913-652-7529, or fknuth@locktonaffinity.com.
